GENERAL MEETING MINUTES

The MS104 PTA holds meetings with the General Membership (that’s you!) every third Thursday of the month throughout the school year. This is a recurring meeting that will normally be held on Zoom. You must register in advance for these meetings. The link to register will be sent in upcoming Baruch Blasts, but is also always available on the school CALENDAR.
We hope that you can attend whenever possible, but in the event you are not able to join us, you can review the minutes of these meetings as well as view a full video recording HERE.

That same link will also contain access to the MS104 PTA By-Laws, which are currently being re-drafted and will soon be available for review and approval by the General Membership.

COMMUNICATIONS

Baruch Blast: The MS104 PTA sends out a twice-weekly newsletter called the Baruch Blast aimed at providing parents with all the information they need to stay informed and get involved. The Baruch Blast is the primary means of communication between the PTA and the MS104 Community.

General Meetings: The MS104 PTA hosts monthly meetings for the General Membership every 3rd Thursday of the month at 9am on Zoom. All parents of MS104 students are invited to attend. All aspects of our finances are explained thoroughly, upcoming events are discussed, and parents are encouraged to submit questions that are most often answered by Principal Rocco Macri himself.
Parents are also encouraged to email the PTA at baruch104pta@gmail.com with any additional questions or comments. We are diligent and transparent with our responses.  

EVENTS

Throughout the year, the PTA is able to dream up, organize, and produce a variety of events meant to keep students, staff, and parents engaged and entertained. These include Movie Night in the yard, the BOO-ruch Halloween Party, the adults only 80’s Dance, the BRRRUCH Winter Festival, Comedy Night in the Auditorium, International Night, and the Annual Baruch Auction.
We also arrange several Teacher Appreciation events throughout the year to remind our amazing teachers and staff how important they are to our community.

The success of these events depends largely on the willingness of our Baruch community to volunteer their time and effort. Whether it’s a few hours at every event or just a single hour at one event,* we can always use your help.
*SIDE NOTE: A few hours at every event is better. ;)

FUNDRAISING

Of course, we can’t do all of this without funding, most of which comes from our extraordinary MS104 community. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and even the occasional 3rd cousin twice removed have multiple ways to donate to the MS104 PTA Annual Fund. With your donations, MS104 is able to produce all of our special events as well as provide professional and staff development that help MS104 teachers and administrators stay up to date on new teaching methods that are invaluable in their constant pursuit of academic excellence. We also use the funds to purchase new technology, upgrade facilities that create a better classroom experience, support student social experiences, and bring academic enrichment programs into the classroom.
100% of every dollar raised in the MS104 Annual Fund is directed to help the entire MS104 community. Regardless of the amount, we value each and every contribution.
